Armor is a type of wearable item that partially protects the player against attacks.  It also changes the appearance of the player, but this effect can be overridden by wearing vanity items. Armor comes in three pieces: head, chest, and legs. All slots provide bonus Defense, Energy capacity, Weapon Damage, and Health. Some Vanity armor also raises Energy regeneration.

Tiers

There are 10 sets (6 tier) of armor for each race, with tier 1 being the worst and tier 6 being the best. All race armor prior to Novakid's has been implemented, however, the stats may still change due to balancing updates.  Each tier corresponds to a different crafting material.

Starting Clothing

When starting a game, there is a selection of race specific clothing options available in a variety of colors. They do not provide any bonuses or buffs and are purely for show.

As per v. 1.0, each character will be able to pick up their clothing from their locker during the tutorial or spawn with it if the tutorial was skipped.

Cut Content

• Racial Armor Abilities: Originally, different races' armor would give unique species related abilities. However, as of v. Upbeat Giraffe, Racial Armor no longer gives these abilities.
• Special Non-Racial Armor: Before v. Upbeat Giraffe, There was a different armor system, including different metal related armors that were the same for every race.

Notes

• Although each race has different armor, it is possible to find and equip armor from other races.
• Armor pieces that only affect the player's appearance are called Vanity Items.
• The stats displayed in-game are rounded up.  Actual stats often have decimals.

Trivia

• There are over 70 different sets of craftable armor.
• Some Human armor sets can be seen as references or nods to popular sci-fi pop culture an example would be the 'Universalist' being a nod to Dead Space protagonist Issac Clarke's armor. As well the set 'Seeker' Possibly being a nod or indirect reference to the Spartans from the Halo series. The Scavenger set also a nod to the Colonial Marines from the Alien series.
